Whilst the franchise was a place for firsts in the basketball category for , on the Air Jordan 6 we also got a last. The feature in question is the Air Max visible air cushioning system. Debuted on the Jordan 3, Air Max windows featured all the way through the series ending with the AJ6. Another feature we wouldn't see after the 6 is Nike branding, indeed the AJ6 was the last Jordan to officially wear the Swoosh – you'll not that these are devoid of Air Max branding on the heel but that's a contemporary detail changed from the OG.
The contemporary touches spread to the uppers, which use the blocking from the iconic Carmine OGs but supplement the signature red for 'yellow ochre'–a mustardy hue. Aside from that relatively simple but substantial change, the rest of the shoe remains relatively true to the OG Carmine make-up.
